red tote bag

I'm sorry i've neglected this blog for so long. Life has really kept me busy lately. I didnt mean to make anyone worry.

I have moved again since my last blog and am now living just north of Little Rock, Ar.. I hope to move again in the near future but I'm not sure exactly where that may be. Yes, I have a problem staying in one place apparently. Arizona was the longest I'd been still in a long time. I will say, I miss my life there.

Anyhow, I've had little time to crochet since the move. However, I have managed! I made myself this red tote bag for general purpose. I found the yarn one day on sale for 99 cents a skien and couldn't pass it up.

I'm currently using the bag for my other WIP. The White Sox 'ghan I've been working on. I just recently started back on it because it was a little painful emotionally to work on. However, I am making progress and it should be finished here before long! I intended to take a picture of it to show the progress but forgot. Oh well, that will give me something else to blog about in the next day or so!

What's up with this new blogger? Hmm.. Interesting. I've been thinking about moving all my stuff over to myspace but I dunno..

Moving...

I just wanted to let you guys know that I'll be out of the loop for at least a week, possibly two. I'm moving back to Arkansas this weekend. It's a 1,356 mile trip. Life is crazy and up in the air right now.. But, I'll find a way to get on the internet as soon as possible of course. The internet is to me like crack is to a crackhead. ;) Hopefully I make it in one piece. I'll be driving a UHaul, pulling my car... with a cat crying the whole way I'm sure. He doesn't like to ride and I move so much that he already knows it's coming just from the boxes in the house. Weeeee.

SOX WIP

Yay! Finally, a new layout! I spent a large amount of time yesterday tweaking it... Hope it looks okay in other browsers.

Anyhow, here's my latest WIP. When Jims brother was here for Thanksgiving he saw the Bears afghan I was working on and wanted one for himself. It took me this long to get to it but I've got a pretty good start on it. Now, if I can just make enough time every day to work on it!!

This one I'm working in DC. Still going to have a bajillion ends to sew in but I started out carrying my yarn and didn't like the way you could see the blue behind the white and the white behind the blue... So I frogged it and started over after a few rows. That's when I decided to do it in DC instead.. Eh.. We'll see how it goes I guess.

Blue Horse

I had been looking at this pattern for months now. Jim's youngest daughter who is 5 really wanted a blue horse. She's insanely crazy about horses and the color blue.. I tried for her birthday to find a blue horse and couldn't. Anyhow, to make a long story short this pattern ended up being used to make one of her Christmas presents. I guess I had always put it off because in the picture of the pattern it looks much smaller than it actually turns out. This I noticed when one of the very talented ladies on Crochetville made hers! It also being blue... I took that as a sign! lol
I got a late start on it so I was pushing myself to get it finished in time. At 3:30 Sunday morning I finally decided I had got far enought that I only had about an hour left to work on it and that I could finish that part up Sunday morning when I woke up.
Hope everyone had an enjoyable holiday!

Go Bears!!

Well, here's my first graph-ghan. I can't say that I'm 100% happy with it because I'm not. For a first I suppose it turned out well and it was a good learning process.

I will definately learn how to carry my yarn so that I don't have a BAJILLION ends to sew in! My poor fingers are bruised to the bone I think. I also think that I pulled the yarn a little too tight while sewing in the ends. But hey.... live and learn.. Right? Hopefully with some use it will loosen up a little.

Mystery Yarn!

I know it may seem as if I've completely abandoned this blog.... I haven't! For about 6 weeks I was slammed with work. I was working anywhere from 70 to 80 hours a week during that time. However, things have slowed down (a little too much) now.

I've been working on my first graph-ghan! It's 2/3 of the way finished. I'm ready/excited to get that knocked out. I took pictures of my WIP but I kinda want to just wait to show it off until it's all finished. Hint : Sports! Jim's brother came down for Thanksgiving and as soon as he saw it he requested one for himself, just a different team and sport altogether! So, the yarn is already bought for that project and I should be able to start it soon! Makes me feel good that it's a hit with the guys! Jim use to make fun of me for crocheting... Now, if I'm not doing anything he asks how come I'm not working on his blanket... LOL

Today I made my rounds to the local thrift stores and came across a small stash of mystery yarn. Of course, I bought it... ;) I'm pretty sure the grey is wool. It feels like wool... and if you burn it, it smells like hair.. *shrug* As far as the blue goes, it's gotta be cotton. On the label of the other it says that it's "Undetermined Fiber"... So, I guess that sums that up! LOL

I have so many things that I want to do... Projects, etc.. However, one thing that is close to the top of my list is to give this place a facelift soon!! I'm serious! Really!

multi-colored scarf

This is one of many scarfs that I'm making my son for the winter that he will be spending in upstate NY. This is actually the first scarf I've ever made. It was an extremely quick project. I'm sure by now you can tell that his favorite color is green... heh. - again.. sorry for the lighting.

WOW! Two posts in one day!! I really do intend on showing this place some TLC as soon as I possibly can. It feels cold and boring. We can't have that!!

Granny Goes Straight!

Okay, so I've been a mixture of lazy, preoccupied and busy. I've been meaning to update here for days if not weeks now. I finished up one of the afghans I was working on. This afghan is from a pattern out of this book that I found at the library. It's called "Granny Goes Straight". I'm happy with the way it turned out, although I wish it were a little bigger. It's for my son. He picked out the pattern and colors that he wanted and the order he wanted the colors. I think he did a pretty good job! A closer view can be found in the previous post. This picture isn't of great quality. I usually take my photos during the day so I have a lot of natural light around but I figured if I didn't do it now then who knows how much longer I would have continued to put posting off.
